LAPS Mission in Alfenas

The LAPS Mission is a charitable, hands-on immersion program in interventional pain medicine organized by the Latin American Pain Society in Alfenas. Conducted in a hospital setting, it focuses on supervised technical training and structured clinical practice while serving patients in need.

During the mission, approximately 100 image-guided interventional procedures will be performed under fluoroscopy and ultrasound guidance, including therapeutic nerve blocks, conventional and pulsed radiofrequency techniques, and regenerative medicine approaches for chronic pain management. This high procedural volume provides participants with direct exposure to real-world clinical decision-making, workflow organization, and advanced interventional practice.

The program is led by internationally recognized experts in pain medicine, creating a rigorous environment for learning, discussion, and the exchange of global best practices.

Importantly, the LAPS Mission is also a charity healthcare initiative, offering specialized interventional pain treatments to patients who might not otherwise have access to these therapies. In this way, education is integrated with meaningful social impact, reinforcing the ethical responsibility of advancing pain care for all.

The LAPS Mission in Alfenas uniquely combines advanced training, international expertise, and a strong commitment to compassionate, socially responsible pain management.
